The Heart Container is a classic staple of The Legend of Zelda series, with every game to date featuring this very basic container in some form or another. With each evolution of the series, the container has evolved as well. Each time you collect a container your life goes up. In The Legend of Zelda, one heart container will make your health bar go up by one further heart. All of these heart containers below are easily obtainable and will help with your battle against Ganon.
All directions are from the Start screen unless otherwise noted.
To get the first container, go East four screens.
Then you will need to place a bomb against the rocks next to the passage North (or in the middle of the screen). If done correctly a door will appear, enter through the door and select the Heart Container option on the right hand side. |

To get the second Heart Container you must go east one screen, north three screens and then west one screen.
This one can be a little tricky to find, but with your candle count, stand over the fifth bush from the eastmost ponit on the screen. Burn that bush down and head on down the stairs. |

To get the third container go east four screens, north five screens and then east for one further sceen.
In the centre of the area should be a large rock. On the right hand side of the southern half of the rock place a bomb. It'll explode revealing a secret passageway. Enter for the heart container. |

To get the fourth container you must first head east eight screens then north five screens.
Now that you're in the right area head towards the top of the screen where there's a little raft area. Head on over the raft area and you'll enter a screen that looks like a dungeon building. Don't worry, it's not, you just go in and you'll see a heart container waiting for you. |

To get the fifth heart container you must first head east eight screens and then north two screens.
This one is obvious and easy to get. Just go towards the platforms and walk across them to get the container. |
